Drug and Alcohol Action Teams (DAATs)

What are DAATs?
DAATs are part of Community Safety Partnerships (or Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships), responsible for implementing the government’s National Drug (and Alcohol) Strategy at a local level. In Sandwell the DAAT is part of the Safer Sandwell Partnership (SSP), located and managed within the Community Safety Division; accountable to the Sandwell Primary Care Trust (PCT). The SSP is made up of representatives from local authorities, health, probation, the prison service and the voluntary sector.

What do DAATs do?
Sandwell DAAT works in partnership with SSP to reduce drug and alcohol related harm caused to individuals, families and communities in Sandwell. This is principally done through commissioning and developing policy around adult drug and alcohol services for users and the community.
